Ingredients:
1 Medium Head Cabbage
1-1/2 lb Ground Beef, browned and drained
1/2 lb Ground Pork Sausage, browned and drained
2 Tablespoons Minced Dried Onion (or use 1/2 of a fresh onion, diced and sauteed)
1 Teaspoon Chili Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/8 Teaspoon Pepper
2/3 Cup Uncooked Long Grain Rice
2 cans condensed tomato soup (see note below)
2 tbs brown sugar
2 cans water
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut cabbage up coarsely and place in an oiled 13 x 9 baking dish. in a medium bowl, combine meat, onion, seasonings and rice. Spread evenly over cabbage. In same bowl, combine tomato soup, brown sugar and water. Pour over meat mixture. Cover pan with foil and bake for 1-1/2 hours.
**note-here is a substitution for condensed tomato soup. I have used it in this recipe with success (I no longer use any Campbell's brands due to allergy un-awareness on their part). Since there is brown sugar in the cabbage recipe, I only use 1 tbs of sugar per tomato soup recipe.
